JFK (CV-67) Pics

{UPDATE!} On Thursday, January 16th, 2025, tugboats pushed and pulled “Big John” out of her spot in Philly where she was resting, and down the river to a large Tug that dragged her to Brownsville Texas, arriving on February 2nd, 2025. The ship will be completely dismantled and the metal used for other projects. {UPDATE!}

I visited Philadelphia on Saturday, February 2nd, 2019, and stopped at the shipyard because I knew the JFK was there. I served onboard this massive ship between 1984-1988. While on deployment in the Mediterranean for 7 months, approximately 5,300 sailors were living on this ship. I guarantee you there was ZERO rust on it at that time. After an attempt at making it a museum, the JFK is now marked for scrap.
